GET INVOLVED
A community for people who are curious about technology, enjoy figuring out how things work, and want to learn, make, share and build together.

We bring technology, electronics and digital tools into conversation with fashion, textiles, visual art, crafts, product design, sustainable making and creative enterprise.
Hands-on learning sessions for all skill levels.
Turn ideas into real solutions together.
A welcoming space for curious and creative people.
Based in Odomase, Sunyani West Municipal, OBS brings together people from Odomase, Sunyani and surrounding communities.
A hackerspace is more than a room full of tools. It is a community that makes space for experimentation, shared learning and practical ideas. Making can mean designing, building, modifying, repairing or creating physical and digital things with tools, materials and knowledge.
A hacker is someone who is curious about how things work and enjoys exploring, experimenting with and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Hackers like to take things apart, understand how they work, modify them, solve problems and find new ways to use tools, materials and technologies. This curiosity extends beyond computers and software to electronics, networking, robotics, science, art, design, crafts and other forms of creative making.
Hackers are driven by a desire to learn, create and discover. They dig deep into problems, teach themselves new skills, experiment with ideas and share knowledge with others. Rather than accepting that things must work in only one way, they explore alternatives, challenge assumptions and build things that may never have existed before. For many hackers, the process of learning, creating and contributing to a community is as important as the finished result.
Although the word “hacking” is often associated with cybercrime, unauthorised access and malicious activity, these do not define the broader hacker culture. Hackerspaces and maker communities value curiosity, ingenuity, experimentation, collaboration and the responsible use of skills. At Open Builders Space, these values come together through technology, electronics, fashion, textiles, visual arts, crafts, digital fabrication and sustainable creative enterprise, creating opportunities for people to learn, make, share and build together.
Experiment, test, troubleshoot and try again. Progress comes from practice.

At OBS, electronics, programming, fabrication, repair and media are starting points—not boundaries. We explore how these tools and skills can connect with fashion and textiles, visual arts and creative design, crafts and traditional making, wearable technology, and sustainable product innovation.
From experimenting with interactive garments and digital fabrication to reimagining local craft, reusing materials and developing creative products, we make room for ideas that cross disciplines and bring different kinds of makers together.
